💡 Hardware & usage tips

• Mic enabled in System Settings but still failing?That is a macOS security behaviour: permission changes in System Settingsdo not apply to a Chrome that is already running. Press Cmd + Q to quit Chrome completely and reopen it, and the permission takes effect. Also make sure the microphone is set to “Allow” in the icon left of the address bar.

• Record a selected region: after sharing a screen or tab, click [✂️ Select region] in the dock or press R to drag a crop box. Presets such as “No toolbar” are available, and only the selected area is recorded.

• MacBook lid closed with an external display: with the lid closed macOS cuts power to the built-in camera. Open the lid slightly to turn it back on.

• iPhone Continuity Camera: when using an iPhone as the camera, keep the iPhonelocked, screen off and mounted in landscape。

• Shortcuts：Space record/stop / R select region / H focus mode / S change shape / C camera on/off / M mic on/off.

Why (Chrome security rule):

To prevent eavesdropping, Chromeblocks every page opened via file:/// a local file from accessing the microphone (it throws NotAllowedError with no permission prompt).
