Many Google results pages include a "People Also Ask" box, and opening one question reveals more. It is a list of questions based on real search behaviour, and the most direct source material for planning content and writing FAQs.
1. Real Example: "how to start a podcast"
On 9 October 2026 we checked "how to start a podcast" (United States) with the People Also Ask tool and got 6 questions:
- How do I start a podcast with no experience?
- What is the #1 most listened to podcast?
- Do podcasters make money?
- How much does a podcast with 5000 listeners make?
- Who are the 10 highest paid podcasters?
- Is it too late to start a podcast in 2026?
Related searches on the same page included "Podcast equipment" and "How to start a podcast reddit". Together they show that people searching how to start a podcast care as much about whether it pays and whether it is too late as about the steps. A tutorial that only lists steps misses half the demand.
2. Turning Questions Into Structure
| Question type | Example | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Step questions on the main topic | How do I start a podcast with no experience? | H2 headings in the main body |
| Doubts and motivation | Is it too late to start a podcast in 2026? Do podcasters make money? | Answer up front, or in a section of its own |
| Adjacent topics | Who are the 10 highest paid podcasters? | The closing FAQ, or a separate linked article |
3. How to Write the Answers
- Use the question itself as the heading and answer it in one or two sentences before adding detail. This format is also easier for Google to excerpt and AI Overviews to cite.
- For questions with numbers (how much can I earn), cite a data source instead of a vague "it depends".
- You can mark up the FAQ with FAQPage structured data, but Google now shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of authoritative sites; the main value is the content itself.
4. Tools That Work Together
People Also Ask gives you the questions, Google autocomplete gives you real phrasing, and a long-tail keyword tool gives you volumes. Combined, they produce a content plan with both demand and priorities.
